If you're interested in finding information on your own water source, here are a couple links to investigate. This is your chance to "dig a little deeper" into your own water quality. :)
This link takes you to the Sauk Rapids City Drinking Water Report. You'll find information about the source of our public water supply, as well as contaminant levels.
If your water comes from the city of St. Cloud, you can check out this link.
Here's the report for Sartell city water.
If you live in the country and have a private well, you may be able to find information about your very own aquifer! This link takes you to the Minnesota County Well Index, where you can search for your well by typing in your address. Click on your well, and you will find everything you need to know in order to draw a complete sketch of your aquifer! You'll see which layers of rock or material the well drillers passed through in order to locate a water-bearing aquifer, how deep your well is, when it was drilled, etc. You may not find info here if your well was drilled quite a while ago.
Finally, this link will give you a source water assessment, which gives you details about what is in your water, and possible threats to your water supply. This is a great way to check out the water source at many public locations such as churches, restaurants, golf courses, etc.
Have fun with these web resources! Isn't it cool to have so much information at your fingertips?
